Challenge
The project, commissioned by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., focused on maintaining the operational efficiency of the GSM-R system—an essential component of critical railway infrastructure. The main challenge was to ensure uninterrupted service availability 24/7/365 while meeting strict SLA response times for service requests. Additionally, the project required nationwide coordination across 369 distributed sites in close cooperation with 9 regional railway divisions. The technical scope included a wide range of systems that demanded expert knowledge and precise service capabilities.
Solution
Dedicated service teams were established to meet SLA response and resolution times. Advanced IT tools were implemented to facilitate task management and coordinate the activities of multiple service units. A series of in-depth training sessions were also conducted to align employees’ skills with the diverse systems covered by the agreement. These actions ensured high-quality service delivery aligned with the client’s expectations.

Summary

The “GSM-R maintenance and service” project marked the first large-scale infrastructure contract for Technitel Polska S.A., covering critical railway sites throughout Poland. The project demanded high operational and technical standards. Five years of close cooperation with PKP PLK S.A. proved the effectiveness of the adopted strategy.
